Provisioning: Sourcing and Delivery
SOURCING & DELIVERY OPTIONS
Global & Local Supply Channels
Douglas Yacht Services sources provisions directly and indirectly through Rungis, the world’s largest fresh-food market. Specific orders from Rungis can be flown in on any working day, provided minimum order volumes are met. Locally, distributors typically receive fresh products by air, with availability generally from Wednesday through Saturday. Freight from Miami is possible but more limited.
Flexible Provisioning Options
Provisioning can be handled in one of two ways, depending on your preferences and schedule.
Option A — Full-Service Provisioning
You send us your provisioning list, and DYS takes care of sourcing, availability checks, purchasing, and delivery. Due to weekly price fluctuations and time constraints, advance quotations are not provided. We apply an industry-standard mark-up of 1.3 on purchased items and charge time according to our Account Opening Form.
Option B — Chef-Led Purchasing
You may also hire our refrigerated truck together with a member of the DYS team. Your chef accompanies us and selects products directly, while we manage transport, logistics, and timing. Charges apply for vehicle use and staff time.
Customs & Sanitary Regulations
No sanitary inspections are required for the import and direct delivery of fresh food to foreign-flagged vessels in transit, allowing for smooth and efficient provisioning upon arrival.
