CUSTOMS & IMMIGRATION CLEARANCE
DYS manages all Customs and Immigration procedures to ensure a smooth arrival and departure for your yacht. Clearance is completed by email, meaning you do not need to come ashore, and passports are not required in person for the process.
Entry into Martinique is valid for 18 months. An exit and re-entry will automatically extend the vessel’s stay for an additional 18 months.
Guests or crew carrying more than €10,000 in cash must declare it. DYS can assist with the required declaration form and submission.
GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Most nationalities that can enter France without a visa may enter Martinique under the same conditions. Some nationalities holding a valid French-issued Schengen C multiple-entry visa also have no additional requirements. Examples include South Africa, Ukraine, Russia, and certain Middle Eastern countries. For the most up-to-date list, please contact DYS.
GUESTS AND CREW
Individuals without a seaman’s book may require a DOM-TOM visa issued by a French Embassy. Several CARICOM nationalities benefit from visa waivers; DYS can confirm eligibility.
Cruising guests or crew without the required visa may, in certain cases, receive local authorisation for a short visit. This requires advance coordination, and DYS will manage the request with local authorities. Exceptional cases are handled with the support of the Prefecture.
Crew members who normally require a visa but do not hold one may go ashore within the port area only. DYS has a comprehensive process in place for flying crew in and out when they require visas for the USA, the Schengen Zone, or Martinique.
To prepare your clearance efficiently, please send DYS copies of the passport information page for each guest and crew member, copies of all valid visas, and for crew, a copy of the seaman’s book. DYS will guide you through all requirements to ensure your arrival and departure are handled with clarity and ease.
